Robert C. Oser, Sr., 89

Robert C. Oser, Sr., 89, of Huntingburg, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, at his residence.

He was born June 11, 1926, in Huntingburg to Henry and Clair (LeClere) Oser. He married Alma K. Cordes on September 4, 1954, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony.

Mr. Oser retired from Kimball where he worked for 38 years and prior to working at Kimball he was employed at the Crane Naval Base. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Y.M.I. Council #497, and V.F.W. Post #2366.  Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and going on drives through the country-side. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Southridge Raider sports fan. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and eight siblings, Carl Oser, Butch Oser, Frieda Heichelbech, Alberta Kuper, Ben Tanner, Alvin Oser, John Tanner, and Anastasia Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Alma K. Oser of Huntingburg; two daughters and two son-in-laws, Pam (Randy) Gehlhausen of Jasper and Chris (Scott) Beckman of Jasper; five sons and four daughter-in-laws, Robert C. (Kathie) Oser, Jr. of Holland, Bill (Theresa) Oser of Brownsburg, Keith (Denise) Oser of Holland, Jeff (Brenda) Oser of Huntingburg, and Shane Oser of Huntingburg, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Robert C. Oser, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
