Robert A. Loepker, 84

Robert A. Loepker, 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, Indiana.
Robert was born on July 13, 1930 in Jasper, Indiana to Frank and Augusta (Habig) Loepker. He married Cleta Deinderfer on September 26, 1959 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on May 28, 1995.
Robert was a Loan Officer at German American Bank, and later served as the President of Marengo State Bank. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Korean War on the USS Salisbury Sound.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, where he sand in the choir. A member of the Jasper VFW Post #673, the American Legion Post #147, the Jasper Knights of Columbus.
He served on the CACD (Cooperative Action for Community Development) board at the St. Meinrad Abbey, and was a volunteer at Camp Koch in Troy, Indiana.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and was an avid collector.
He is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Bingle of Jasper, Carolyn Brewer and her husband Thomas, of Huntingburg, Joan Duncan and her husband David, of Arlington, Vir., and Karla Neukam and her husband Brian, of Jasper; one brother, George Loepker of Jasper; one sister, Mary Burger of Jasper; nine grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his wife was one daughter, Mary Margaret Loepker, one brother, Bernie Loepker, and one great grandchild, Brylee Bingle.
Funeral services for Robert Loepker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The VFW Post #673 will conduct Military Gravesite Rites.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church.
