The suspect that left his car crashed into a footbridge on the Jasper Riverwalk turned himself in at the Jasper Police Station today.

David L. Manus, 26, of Hardinsburg, Ind., was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage crash after he reported to the police department at about 7:05 p.m. Saturday.

Police originally responded to the footbridge located between 4th and 5th streets at about 12:05 a.m. for the crash and found a bronze 2004 Nissan Maxima lodged there. Police said Manus had left the scene of the crash on foot.

Jasper officers searched the area extensively and were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle.

Police reported the Maxima was totaled.
