Rita M. Healy, 88

Rita M. Healy, age 88, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born in Jasper June 4, 1925 to John and Helen (Hopf) Hohler. She married Joseph Healy June 4, 1946 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, he preceded her in death January 7, 2010.

Rita retired from Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper where she managed the Food Service department for many years.

She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society and served on St. Joseph Church prayer line.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Steiner and husband Norbert, of Cannelburg, IN; two sons, Robert Healy and wife Jacquie, of Aurora, CO; Bill Healy and wife Christy, of Carmel, IN; one sister, Margie Jahn, of Jasper, IN; and seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and one step-great-grandson.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are two sisters, Arnella Burger and Betty Hohler and three brothers, James, John and Paul Hohler.

Funeral services for Rita Healy will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (October 12, 2013) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary will be held at 1:45 p.m. Friday by the St. Ann’s Society at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Sisters of Providence – St. Mary’s of the Wood or to a favorite charity.
