Rita Ann Troxel Arbuckle, 90, Jasper

Rita Ann Troxel Arbuckle, formerly of Marshall, Ill. passed away peacefully at her residence in Jasper surrounded by family on June 11, 2022, at 11:45 a.m. EST following a two-year battle with cancer.

Rita was born in Terre Haute, the daughter of Daniel and Marie Troxel.

She married the love of her life, Warren Arbuckle, on January 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2005. From this union, they had six children, Daniel E. Arbuckle (Marlene) of Jasper, infant Phyllis A. Arbuckle (deceased), Karen A. Arney (Scott) of Marshall, Joyce L. Kibby (Dennis) of Jasper, Cheryl L. Comer (deceased) (Scott) of Marshall and Carla Hefner (deceased) of Marshall. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Amy Arbuckle, Lori Barnett (Jason), Jeremy Kibby (Mandi), Natasha Pence (Nate), Tory Beth Mullen (Joel), Miranda Sims (Joel), Chris Hefner and Mick Arney. She also was a great-grandmother to Chelsea Barr, Garrett Barnett (Kat), Quinn Barnett, Liam and Keatan Kibby, Kennedi, Allice, Jace Mullen and Clayton and Clark Sims. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Eliza Nell Arbuckle and several nieces and nephews.

She retired from Burnside’s Nursing Home after many years. She lived her last five years in the St. Charles Villas and enjoyed dear friendships. She was a member of the Huntingburg Church of Christ.

Services in honor of her life will be 1:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, June 15 at Pearce Funeral Home with son-in-law Dennis Kibby officiating. The visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow at the Ohio Cemetery.
