Richard S. Colman, 83
Richard S. Colman, 83, of Dubois passed away at 10:07 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born on February 4, 1932 at Brownsville, Kentucky to Barney and Gladys (Rountree) Colman. He married Joyce Foy on July 16, 1960 at Chicago, Illinois.
Richard was a US Navy Veteran serving in Japan. He retired from the U.S. Corp of Engineers. He had worked at Patoka Lake for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, auctions and watching Westerns.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Keith Colman of Dubois; three daughters, Wonda Colman and fíancé Marc Fasnacht of Huntingburg, Barbara Wood and husband Bob of Jasper and Janice Bates and husband William of Calhoun, Ga.; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta Fentress of Charleston, Ill., Lorene Cutright and husband Jerry of Charleston, Ill. and Regina Swim of Mattoon, Ill.;
Preceding him in death are one grandson, David S. Wood; One brother, Floyd Colman and four sisters, Helen Dailey, Rosetta Shafer, Dimple O’Dell, Dorothy Groves. Also three sisters and one brother died in infancy.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in the Cuzco Cemetery in Cuzco. First Baptist Church in Jasper will conduct the graveside service. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military graveside rites.
