Richard A. “Rick” Linette, 66, Jasper, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at home after a lengthy illness.

Rick was born in Huntingburg on January 2, 1950 to Ted and Dorothy (Wigand) Linette.

Rick worked for Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. He also previously worked for Ruxer Ford Automotive and was the former owner of Rick’s Marathon in Jasper. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper, and the Ireland Knights of Columbus. He was a double lung transplant recipient. He enjoyed antiques, hunting and fishing, and spending time with family and grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters, Jill Kidwell and husband Jay of Jasper and Jodi Whitler and husband Chad of Evansville; two sons, Chad Linette and wife Crista of Jasper and Eric Linette of Kansas City, Kansas; friend, Mary Linette of Evansville; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Linette and wife Judy of Jasper, Mike Linette and wife Donna of Ireland and Mel Linette and wife Suzie of Jasper.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Funeral services for Rick Linette will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor Larry Van Camp will officiate.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper and again from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time on Friday, September 23, 2016, at the church. The Ireland Knights of Columbus will perform a memorial service Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
