Richard J. “Rick” Blaize, 73, Jasper

Richard J. “Rick” Blaize, 73, of Jasper, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at The Timbers of Jasper, surrounded by family.

Rick was born in Jasper on May 3, 1953, to Mary Vonderheide Kemp. He was raised by Mary and her husband, Jerald “Bub” Kemp.

He attended Jasper High School.

He was a member of the Jasper Moose and the American Legion Post #147.

Rick enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal, Indiana Hoosier, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals fan. He also loved telling stories about the concerts he attended, golf trips, and his random trivia knowledge. Rick told everyone that they should, “Go to Vegas at least once!”

He is survived by two daughters, Lindsay (Jason) Moll of Montgomery and Lacey Blaize of Jasper; one son, Luke (Madelyn) Blaize of Jasper; four grandchildren and one on the way, Keegan Thomas, Karisma Moll, Devin and Owen Blaize, and two nieces and one nephew.

Preceding him in death is one brother, Gary (Peg) Blaize.

A prayer service for Richard J. “Rick” Blaize will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial at a later date.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
