Richard Allen Mason, 79, Poseyville

Richard Allen Mason, 79, of Poseyville, Ind., born to Loral Earl and Hazel Marie (Cosby) Mason Aug. 20, 1942, in Huntingburg passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Premier Healthcare in New Harmony, Ind.

He graduated from Huntingburg High School and worked at the Whirpool Corporation and Dutch Corner as a bartender. He owned and operated the Yukon Inn and was a school bus driver for the North Posey School Corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie (Niethammer) Mason; sons, Carl (Katie) and Bryan Mason; son-in-law, Tony West; stepson, Joseph Benson; stepdaughter, Stephanie Harvey; brother, Toad Mason; three grandchildren, Jared West, Brendan and Raegan Mason; five step-grandchildren, Jessica Arnold, Sammie Judge, Hunter Harvey, McKenzie and Benjamin Benson; and three great-grandchildren, Kynslee, Travis and Autumn.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Mary West; stepdaughter, Shelly Lynn Benson; and brother, Dale Mason.

The funeral service is at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Ind., with burial to follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery near Evansville.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the funeral home.

Masks are recommended and social distancing should be observed.
