Rhonda J. Garland, 74, Jasper

Rhonda J. Garland, 74, of Jasper, passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at home. 

Rhonda was born in Huntingburg on April 9, 1947, to Vernis “Copper” and Lucille (Cummins) Garland.  

She was a 1965 graduate of Jasper High School. 

She retired from Old National Bank after 50 years of work. She loved to stay busy. After retirement she worked part-time at K-Mart and volunteered at the Dubois County Food Bank.  

She was an active member of the Dubois County Democrat Party.  

She enjoyed traveling, gambling, playing cards and visiting with her family and friends.  

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Garland of Jasper; two brothers, Ron (Betty) Garland of Jasper and Joe (Alice) Garland of Jasper; two nephews, Bryant Garland and Michael Garland; two nieces, Ann MacArthur and Karen Krusing; 17 great nieces and nephews, and four great-great nieces and nephews.   

Preceding her in death is her father, Vernis “Copper” Garland and one niece, Amanda Rees.  

A graveside service for Rhonda J. Garland will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye. Pastor Albert Madden will officiate.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Food Bank or to a favorite charity.
