Reverend Raymond William Andrews, 85

The Reverend Raymond William Andrews, 85, of Santa Claus, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. CDT on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Pastor Andrews was born in London, Ohio on October 30, 1929 to Raymond William and Josephine (Weaver) Andrews. He married Sally Pease on July 27, 1957 in Elkhart, Indiana.
Pastor Andrews was ordained into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Lutheran Church in 1955.
He retired as the pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana in 1995, where he served since 1980.
Previous congregations served include: Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Indiana; Mission Start – Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in West Lafayette, Indiana; St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cold Springs, Kentucky; and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portland, Indiana.
He recently celebrated his 60th anniversary of ordination into the Lutheran Church, and his 58th wedding anniversary with Sally.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Haysville Ruritan, and served in other various civic organizations through the years.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, a good cup of coffee, and spending time with friends and family.
he is survived by his wife, Sally Andrews of Santa Claus; two daughters, Lisa Andrews of Dallas, Texas and Janine Andrews of Indianapolis; three sons, Paul Andrews and his wife Dawn of Prospect Heights, Ill., Mark Andrews and his wife Courtney of Raleigh, N.C. and Eric Andrews of Haysville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Garrett and husband Max of Monmouth, Ore. and Rosemary Bull and husband Trewby of New Zealand.
Preceding him in death was one brother, David Andrews; and one granddaughter, Payton May Andrews.
Funeral services for Pastor William Andrews will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date in St. Paul’s Cemetery. The Reverend William O. Gafkjen, Bishop of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod, and Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Tuesday at the church.
