Republicans to hold caucus to fill County Council District 1 seat

The Dubois County Republican Party will hold a caucus of District 1 committee members to fill the vacancy on the Dubois County Council left by former councilman Daryl Schmitt’s appointment to finish State Senator Mark Messmer’s term in District 48.

The caucus will be held at the Republican Headquarters, 506 Jackson Street, Jasper, on September 26 at 6 p.m. It is not open to the public.

 Qualifying individuals interested in declaring their candidacy for the Republican District 1 County Council seat, must file notarized forms CEB-5 and CAN-12 with Republican Chairman Robert Duncan, by email at DCGOPCC@gmail.com, no later than 72 hours prior to the start of the caucus. 

Candidacy forms are available at the County Clerk’s office in the Dubois County Courthouse or downloaded from the Indiana Secretary of State’s Election Division website: https://www.in.gov/sos/elections/election-administrators-portal/election-forms/.
