Republican candidates file for municipal elections

Several Republican candidates gathered at Bread & Butter on the Square in Jasper before heading to the courthouse to file Wednesday.

January 7 is the first day candidates can officially file their candidacy with the clerk’s office for nomination for municipal offices subject to the May 5th Primary Election.  Candidates for mayor, clerk-treasurer and city council in Huntingburg and Jasper may file seeking nomination from Wednesday, January 7 until noon on Friday, February 6.

The following candidates have announced they will be running.

Glen Kissling is seeking re-election to the Huntingburg Common Council for District #1.

Alex Blackgrove is seeking re-election to the Huntingburg Common Council for District #2.

Steve McPherronis seeking re-election to the Huntingburg Common Council for District #3.

Vickie Lewisis seeking election as Huntingburg Common Council at-large. She will run for the seat currently held by Amy Lehr who will not be running for re-election.

Kevin Manley is seeking re-election to the Jasper Common Council for District #6.

Scott Blazey is seeking election to the Jasper Common Council for District #3.

Nancy Eckerle is seeking election to the Jasper Common Council at-large.
