Renola M. (Nord) Cecil, 86

Renola M. (Nord) Cecil, 86, of Mariah Hill, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.
She was born March 2, 1928, in St. Meinrad to Frank and Regina (Neu) Brockman.
Renola married Francis “Bencie” Nord on October 8, 1949 in St. Meinrad. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1972. She married her second husband, Bill Cecil on October 25, 1974, in Metropolis, Ill. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2008.
Renola is survived by three sons, Tom Nord and wife Cindy of Newburgh, Tim Nord and wife Tami of Mariah Hill and Terry Nord also of Mariah Hill; one stepson and three step-daughters; one sister, Edna “Patty” Eger of Tell City; one brother, James Brockman and wife Mary Lee of Evansville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Renola was preceded in death by her two husbands, Francis Nord and Bill Cecil, one brother, Merwyn Brockman and a sister, Mary Jane.
Renola was a former co-owner of The Chateau Restaurant in Mariah Hill. She enjoyed puzzles, playing dominos, playing cards and bingo. She was an avid fan of the Mariah Hill Yankees baseball team. Renola was a member of the Santa Claus American Legion Auxiliary Post 242; Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and its’ Ladies Sodality. She also served on the Bereavement Luncheon Group at Mary Help of Christians Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. CDT Monday in Mary Help of Christians Church, Mariah Hill. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and Monday from 9:00 a.m. CDT until time of service at the Church. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
