Redemption Christian Church announces organizational shift
Redemption Christian Church, based in Dubois and Martin Counties in southern Indiana, is reorganizing staff in preparation for the church’s move to a multi-site church in late 2016. The church’s first multi-site location will be in Loogootee, Ind., in addition to its first site in Jasper, Ind., at 1450 Energy Dr.
“Seeing people come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ is what the life of this church is about,” Senior Minister Darrel Land told the congregation on Sunday, Oct. 30 as he announced the staffing changes. “But because we are growing and changing, you kind of have to reshuffle and change some things.”
Effective immediately, each campus will have its own campus minister taking charge of the day-to-day operations and ministries at their specific location. Richard Crabtree will shift from overall Discipleship Minister to Loogootee Campus Minister and Ryan Stiles will shift from overall Outreach and Operations minister to Jasper Campus Minister.
Because of these changes, Redemption will also form a Central Team in an effort to minister to the entire church body at all campuses.
“There’s some voids that we have,” Land explained. “We’re doing a whole organizational shift.”
The Central Team will consist of Land as Senior Minister, continuing his role as lead pastor for the church and staff, as well as three other staff members, Drew Thurman, Daniel Ross, and Tracy Austin.
Thurman will move from the position of Family Life and Teaching Minister to his new role as Executive Minister of Development. Thurman will oversee discipleship ministries of all campuses, including overseeing Redemption’s Community Groups. Thurman will also guide development of all Redemption ministries as well as continue to preach and teach on a regular basis.
Ross will move from the position of Music and Communications Minister to his new role as Executive Minister of Operations. Ross will oversee all Redemption operations and communications. While shifting to his new role, Ross will continue to lead the Jasper campus as Worship Minister until the campus hires a new Worship Minister for the campus. However, Ross will continue to guide the practice and philosophy of Redemption music worship, organizationally, as well as be a floating worship minister for the church.
Austin rounds out the Central Team by expanding her role as Financial Administrator at the Jasper campus to include overseeing finances of all campuses of the church, as well as organizationally.
“We’re really excited about this because it’s going to enable us to be the most efficient, to bring in fresh ideas, and to really grow this as we continue to see what God’s doing and we continue to see lives changed,” Land said. “I’m excited for the future because … our best days are not behind us, they’re ahead of us. And I look forward to God doing immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine as we love God, love people, and watch Him change the world.”
