Redemption announces new teaching minister

Lance

On Sunday, March 25, Redemption Christian Church, based in Dubois and Martin counties in southern Indiana, announced the addition of Leigh-Garrett (L.G.) Lance to its team as the church’s new Teaching Minister.

L.G. Lance, 34, was previously a student minister at Traders Point Christian Church, a multi-site church near Indianapolis, from 2015 to late 2017 where he led student ministry for seventh to twelfth grades. Lance was also responsible for the vision and oversight of student ministry across four campuses. He was previously a student minister at First Church of Christ in Burlington, Ky., from 2012 to 2015 and Southside Christian Church in Harrodsburg, Ky., from 2006 to 2012.

Lance, a Kentucky native, is a 2006 graduate of Cincinnati Christian University and plans to join the Redemption staff in mid-April.

“I’m excited to join Redemption and be a part of the community there. I’m looking forward to growing together in our faith and joining your mission to serve, love, and win people to Jesus,” Lance said.

Drew Thurman, the church’s current teaching minister, is departing Redemption at the end of April to move, along with his family, to Boston, Mass., to plant Renaissance Christian Church. More information about this church plant and process can be found at Renaissance’s Web site, renaissanceboston.org.
