Reckless driving, waving gun complaint unfounded; no arrest
Monday, Jasper Police responded to the report of a driver running people off the road while waving a gun; however, they determined the report was unfounded after stopping the reported vehicle.
According to police, they received the call about the reckless vehicle at 5:20 p.m. The caller stated the suspect vehicle was on U.S. 231 near 12th Avenue. Police stopped the vehicle and performed a felony traffic stop, shutting down U.S. 231 for a short time while the investigated the complaint.
The investigation determined the complaint was unfounded and no arrests were made.
The Jasper Police Department issued a thank you to everyone who showed roadside courtesy during the incident.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police also responded to the incident.
