Rebecca “Becky” (Mickel) Riggins, 69, Evansville

Rebecca “Becky” (Mickel) Riggins, 69, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Becky was born in Huntingburg on August 26, 1954, to Carrie (Springston) and John Mickel, Sr.

She was a 1972 graduate of North High School. Throughout her life, Becky worked in insurance claims and later part-time for Sears. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, and traveling. Becky was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially loved her grandkids.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Jessica Riggins of Evansville; son, Clifton Riggins, IV of Evansville; mother, Carrie (Springston) Mickel; sister, Debbie Font (Terry) of Newburgh; brothers, Greg Mickel of Evansville and Eric (Tammy) Mickel of Evansville; grandchildren, Spencer, Madison, Kaydee, and Ella Mae.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Clifton Riggins, III; father, John Mickel, Sr.; brother, John Mickel, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Vickie Mickel.

A celebration of Becky’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Anisa Evans officiating.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Browning Funeral Home.
