Raymond James Jenkins, 83, Texas

Raymond James Jenkins went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on December 28, 2016, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Huntingburg, Indiana on March 11, 1933 to Laura Denk and James Jenkins.
He lived his early life in Huntingburg, Indiana before enlisting in the United States Navy to serve his country during the Korean Conflict. He married his wife of 58-years, Betty Schnarr on May 7, 1958.
Ray completed his BS Degree in Production Management at the University of Evansville in 1957 and worked in the corrugated container business until he retired. He ended his career as co-owner of DSE Container Inc. in San Antonio, Texas.
Ray is survived by his wife Betty, two sons Brian Ray Jenkins and Brent Lane Jenkins both military veterans and both of New Braunfels, Texas. He has three grandchildren (Chelsea, Amanda and Raymond) and three step-grandchildren (Donna Caberto Nunez, Meagan Tovar and Brooke Hefley) and three step-great-grandchildren (Mylah and Logan Reyes and Ava Nunez).
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Walter.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
A celebration of his wonderful life will be held at First Protestant Church, 172 W. Colt St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130 on Tuesday January 3rd, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with luncheon reception to follow the service in the church Family Life Center. All friends and family are welcome to attend this celebration.
