Raymond “Hap” Rees, 83, Jasper

Raymond “Hap” Rees, 83, Jasper, passed away at 4:33 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, in Memorial Hospital Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born in Jasper, Indiana on May 27, 1933 to Henry and Mary (Meyer) Rees. He married Anna Fox on February 8, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Raymond served in the US Army in Germany and retired from the Jasper Corporation where he worked as a night watchman for 46 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Rees of Jasper; two daughters, Ann Bleemel and husband Alan Sr. of Loogootee and Mary Jane Tackett and husband Wayne of W.V.; sons, David Rees and wife Georgia of Louisville, James Rees of Jasper and Brian Ernst of Jasper; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Robison of Indianapolis.
Preceded in death by three sisters, Elsie Ward, Mary Lou Rees and , Sr. Frances Rees of St. Mary of the Woods. Also two brothers, Herbert Rees and Jack Rees.
Funeral services for Raymond Rees will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, (August 24, 2016), in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the family of Raymond Rees.
