Raymond A. Hochgesang, age 82 of Jasper, passed away 11:32 am. Thursday (October 25, 2012) at Brookside Village in Jasper.

He was born in Jasper, Indiana November 17, 1929 to James and Catherine (Stenftenagel) Hochgesang. He married Clarissa C. Burke November 23, 1950; she preceded him in death on July 21, 2008.

Owned and operated Dubois County LP Gas Company in Jasper and also did farming.

He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper – Jasper Knight of Columbus and the St. Anthony Community Center.

Member of the Indiana Propane Gas Association and the National Propane Gas Association.

Surviving,

Three daughters,

  • Kathy Fuhs, Jasper, IN
  • Mrs. John (Donna) Welp, St. Anthony, IN

Two sons,

  • Mark Hochgesang, Jasper, IN
  • Joe Hochgesang, Jasper, IN

Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death besides his wife are two sisters, Sally Wagner and Viola Sternberg and two brothers, Leo and Richard Hochgesang.

Funeral services for Raymond Hochgesang will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (October 30, 2012) in Holy Family Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday (October 29, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church – Dubois County Food Bank or a favorite charity.
