Ray Allen Heilman, 75, Newburgh

Ray Allen Heilman, 75, of Newburgh, passed away on July 27, 2024.

Ray was born January 4th, 1949, to Omar and Eleanor (Kaetzel) Heilman in Dale, Indiana.

He graduated from Dale High School and Indiana State University. He briefly taught English at Delphi Middle School before entering the business world. He later worked at Highsmith Floral and Long’s Wholesale Floral Supply. 

Ray resided in Indianapolis for most of his adult life. He moved to Newburgh four years ago to be closer to family. Most recently, he has been the pianist and an active participant at Yankeetown United Methodist Church.

Ray is survived by his sisters, Vera (Charles) Huffman of Newburgh and Karen (Wayne) Goodwine of Bedford; and brother Marvin (Nancy) Heilman of Newburgh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Ethel Heilman; and brother, Darrel Heilman.

Funeral services for Ray Allen Heilman will be held at noon CST on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Fuller Funeral Home in Dale. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, before the service at the funeral home.  

Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
