Ralph Raymond Peters, 67
Ralph Raymond Peters, 67, of Huntingburg, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014.
He was born in Spencer County to Frank and Anita Wilmes Peters. He attended school in Fulda, and graduated from St. Ferdinand High School. He was a member of the National Guard during the Vietnam period.
Ralph enjoyed his working career as a furniture maker at JOFCO for nearly forty years, retiring in 2005. The hours at home were filled with his passions: his family, landscape painting, woodworking, renovating his home and gardens, miniature trains, and roses.
In later years, he was often seen on the streets and backroads either on his scooter or golf cart, enjoying the world outside.
He was a member of Salem United Church Christ, Huntingburg.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Elaine; his two sons Christopher and his wife Thess Peters and Thomas and his wife Laura Peters, both of Jasper; stepdaughters, Jennifer Armstrong Milligan and her husband Terry of Columbus, Ind., and Meredith Armstrong of Oakland Cali., Susan Armstrong and Faye Armstrong, both of Kensington Md.; seven grandchildren, Chase Steftenagel, Eric Peters, Luke Peters, Jenna Peters, Seamus Milligan, Katherine Milligan and Lillianna Armstrong; two brothers, Earl and his wife Karen Peters of Santa Claus and Jim and his wife Debbie Peters of Owenboro Ky.; two sisters, Aggie Kempf and her husband Steve of Bretzville, Mary Mills of Evansville; plus many relatives, coworkers and friends.
Ralph is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Carl and Bernard, and a sister, Sr. Anita of The Benedictines at Monastery Immaculate Conception, Ferdinand.
Friends and family are invited to an open house at the home of Ralph and Elaine Peters on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and to a memorial service at 4:30 pm. Memorials in his name may be sent to Salem UCC, Huntingburg, or Dale Presbyterian Church (Micah Center).
