Ralph “Cotton” Stemle, age 86

Ralph “Cotton” Stemle, age 86, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Saturday (October 27, 2012) in Brookside Village in Jasper.
He was born June 3, 1926 in Jasper to Leopold Stemle Jr. and Katie (Otto) Stemle. He married Mary Catherine Scherle November 11, 1947. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2006.
He was a WWII Army Veteran. He retired from JOFCO where after working there for 45 years.
Mr. Stemle was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and going to the Casino. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post # 673 and the Jasper Moose Lodge #1175 of which he served as a former governor.

Six grandchildren; Renae Roberts, Todd and Terry Stemle, Jennifer Meadors, Matt and Brett Stemle. A Step-granddaughter, Tina Fromme and two step-great-grandchildren, Cody and Dalton Beard. Also three great grandchildren, Katelyn and Tyler Stemle and Gabe Roberts.

Preceding him in death besides his wife is one granddaughter, Tina Stemle who died in infancy and one brother Henry Stemle.
Funeral services for Ralph Stemle will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (October 31, 2012) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. V.F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2 – 8 p.m. Tuesday (October 30, 2012) the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dubois County Food Bank or to the Providence Home in Jasper.
