Ralph C. Voegerl, 84, St. Anthony

Ralph C. Voegerl, 84, of St. Anthony, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

Ralph was born in St. Anthony on September 20, 1935, to Joseph and Catherine (Wallhauser) Voegerl. He married Marlene Kluemper on January 12, 1963, in St. Anthony Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2014.  

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1955 to 1963 and was a member of the St. American Legion Post #493, the Ferdinand American Legion Post #124 and the Huntingburg VFW Post #2366. Ralph retired from the Kimball Laminates plant after many years of service. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a member of the Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, the St. Anthony Community Center, and the St. Anthony Conservation Club.  

He enjoyed gardening, riding his four-wheeler, playing cards, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, going to Arnie’s Tavern for lunch, and spending time with his family and friends. 

He is survived by one daughter, Denise Schnell (Rick) of St. Anthony; one son, Steve Voegerl of Ferdinand; five grandchildren, Tara Leisman, Brooke Mohr, Matt Schnell, Josh Voegerl and Braydon Voegerl; eight great-grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death besides his wife were six brothers, Herbert, Orville, Leo, Otto, Raymond, and Clarence Voegerl. 

A private Mass of Christian Burial for Ralph C. Voegerl will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.   

The St. Anthony American Legion will perform military gravesite rites.

 Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish or a favorite charity.
