R. Raymond Alsman, 90, Sullivan

R. Raymond Alsman, 90, of Sullivan, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Cobblestone Crossing Health Campus in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born on March 24, 1930, in Carlisle, Indiana the son of Ernie Alsman and Naomi Candace Pirtle.

Raymond graduated from Carlisle High School in 1948. He married Carol J. Carty on February 11, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired farmer.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. In his retirement, he enjoyed winter trips to Florida and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; his sister Elsie Ault; and his brother Robert Alsman.

He is survived by his three sons, Steve Alsman (Carole) of Holland, Brad Alsman (Sue) of Carlisle, Ind., and Dwayne Alsman (Dana) of Sullivan, Ind.; six grandchildren, Candy Wampler (Daron), Suzzanne Patterson (Jayton), Mandy Zimmerman (Kenny), Colin Alsman, Caitlin Kuppler (Tyler), and Chloe Alsman; six great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Gracie and Christian Zimmerman, Ava and Alivya Patterson, and Barrett Kuppler.

A private graveside service will be held at Center Ridge Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
