Providence Home Health Care Center statement on the abuse case

Providence Home Health Care Center submitted a statement regarding the recent investigation and arrests of six of its employees for allegations of neglect and battery of a resident.

In the statement, Providence explained they received information about the abuse investigation on January 25 and once the charges were filed against the suspects, their employment was immediately terminated.

“The news of this deeply shocks and saddens us all and we are committed to act in full cooperation with the Office of the Attorney General in their investigation and will support their findings to ensure that those responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” officials stated in the press release.

The statement also explains the Executive Board of Directors and Administration are fully cooperating with the Attorney General and partnering with the family of the victim to insure all the “loved ones” under their care receive the quality of care to which they are entitled.

Providence also stated the are completing a thorough review of the home’s policies and procedures to ensure incidents like the recent one do not occur again.
