Prayer workshop planned in Ferdinand

Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand are offering a program, “Introduction to Centering Prayer,” that will explain this quiet, reflective prayer form grounded in the Christian tradition.

The workshop will be held Saturday, August 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time at the Benedictine Hospitality Center at Kordes Hall on the grounds of Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, Indiana. Check-in time is 9:00 a.m. The retreat will be presented by Sisters Kathy Bilskie and Celeste Boda, both members of the Ferdinand Benedictines. Sister Kathy is certified as a Centering Prayer presenter by Contemplative Outreach and has been facilitating Centering Prayer workshops for many years. Sister Celeste has assisted at facilitating Centering Prayer workshops for the past seven years. She is Judicial Assistant to the Judicial Vicar in the Tribunal for the Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky.

The program will provide an opportunity to practice this way of praying.
