Police warn of scams again
The Jasper Police Department is reminding residents to be aware of scams.
Recently, scammers have targeted residents with two different tactics.
In the first scam, a resident was advised they had won a large amount of money but had to send money to receive the winnings. This never happens, do not send money to win money, according to police.

The second was the grandparents scam, the scammer tells a grandparent their grandson or granddaughter is in jail and needs money to get out of jail. Never send money without verifying the validity of the claim. Contact other relatives or contact the police before sending money to anyone.
