Police seeking stolen special edition Camaro (found)

Jasper — The Camaro reported stolen this morning has been found.

According to police, a citizen contacted the Jasper Police Department and stated they thought the car was parked at the Jasper Youth Sports Complex.

Jasper officers located the car and confirmed it was the one stolen.

The investigation is continuing.

The department recommends that citizens lock their vehicles and not leave the keys inside.

Jasper police are asking the public’s help in locating a stolen special edition anniversary Chevrolet Camaro.

The black 2012 Chevrolet Camaro with red, white and blue striping on the hood commemorating the 45th anniversary of the model was taken from the area of Fourth and Clay streets sometime after midnight Monday.

The car’s In God We Trust license plate is WIY832.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Jasper police at 812-482-2255 or the department’s anonymous tip line: 812-481-2677 (COPS).
