Police seeking driver involved in striking pedestrian

The Jasper Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to police, a pedestrian was struck while crossing the street at the intersection of 9th and Main streets at 5:15 a.m.

Police said a gray or silver van struck the pedestrian and then left the scene after briefly checking on the pedestrian. The van was last seen northbound on Newton Street. No information about the driver or vehicle was shared at the scene.
