Police seeking armed robbery suspect (Updated)

Update:

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at approximately 3:03 p.m. officers with the Jasper Police Department located the suspect vehicle involved in the armed robbery near Sure Stay Hotel.

Officers performed a traffic stop upon the suspect vehicle and were able to take the suspect, Collin Thomas, into custody. Thomas was transported to the Jasper Police Department for questioning before being taken to the
Dubois County Security Center and being booked in with the following charges: Robbery-Level 3 Felony; Pointing a Firearm-Level 6 Felony; Theft-Level 6 Felony; and Criminal Mischief-Class B Misdemeanor.

The Huntingburg Police Department is asking a Jasper man to turn himself in after he allegedly attempted to rob a gas station wielding a shotgun.

According to police, they were dispatched to the Fast Track Marathon gas station, 1307 N. Main Street, for the report of an armed robbery on Monday at 8:15 p.m. A man dressed in black and wearing a mask entered the stored armed with a pump-action shotgun and demanded money from the register.

The suspect attempted to break into the clerk’s office door, but the clerk surrendered the cash drawer. The suspect grabbed the cash and fled the scene before officers arrived.

Investigators reviewed the security cameras and were able to identify the vehicle and suspect.

The Huntingburg Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating the Collin Thomas, 20, of Jasper. He was last seen leaving the scene driving a black four-door 2007 Suzuki Forenza with Indiana plate 839RCD.

He was wearing black with a black Disney hoodie turned inside out.

At this time Thomas is considered armed and dangerous.

Police also said they encouraged Collin to cooperate with his family and turn himself in peacefully.
