Police: Huntingburg woman arrested with .22 BAC and child in car

A 29-year-old Huntingburg woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after police determined she was driving with her seven-year-old son and had a .231 percent blood alcohol content.
The incident began at about 1:50 p.m. when police were notified of a light blue Mitsubishi crossing the center line and fog line on a city street. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it at 14th and Newton streets. They made contact with the driver, Michelle Nugent, 29, of N. Irving Court, and determined she was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her after she tested .22 percent blood alcohol content with a personal breathalyzer test.
During an inventory of the car, officers allegedly located numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia and two legend drugs.
Nugent faces a preliminary Level 6 felony count of operating while intoxicated with endangerment of a minor. She will also face charges of possession of a legend drug and paraphernalia.
At the police department, Nugent’s blood alcohol content was .231 percent when it was tested with a certified breath test.
She was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
