Police; Huntingburg man turns himself in for child molestation

Friday, a Huntingburg man came into the Huntingburg Police Department to turn himself in for molesting a girl. The incidents allegedly occurred six years ago.
According to police, Claude D. Taylor, 63, of 212 E. First St., reported to the police department at about noon and told police about several inappropriate incidents that occurred when the victim was about nine years old.
Taylor allegedly told police about some recent interactions with the victim that may have prompted him to turn himself in for the incidents, According to Det. Sgt. Christian Gogel,
Gogel and the Department of Child Services contacted the family of the child regarding the incidents and subsequently placed Taylor under arrest for a Class A felony count of child molesting.
Taylor was booked into the Dubois County Security Center on a $20,000 cash bond.
