Photo contest winners announced by Dubois County Museum

The Dubois County Museum announced the winners of the First Annual Photo Contest held at the museum in May.

With one hundred entries that included tranquil scenes, birds, flowers, photographs of pets and animals, and many other subjects, the contest attracted various subjects from several age groups.

The public voting for the People’s Choice Awards was exciting with visitors perusing the display to choose their favorites.

Photos are displayed on several walls in the lobby and the entrance ramp into the museum and will be on display until July 1.

Winners of the People’s Choice Awards selected by the public:

Adult Division

  • First Place: Ordie Day, Jasper, with “Big Boy” Train
  • Second Place: Tasia Baker, Jasper, with “Glade Creek Falls”
  • Third Place: James M. Patterson, Jasper, with “Hitchhiker”

Teen Division

  • First Place: Danika Kiefer, Velpen, with “Feeding Time”
  • Second Place: Jocilynn Dayhoff, Birdseye, with “Bubble Bunch”

Children Division

  • First Place: Madison Kieser, Jasper, with “Horses at Sunset”

Adult Division

  • First Place: Ordie Day, Jasper, with “Country Crossing”
  • Second Place: Bryan Freson, Jasper, with “Spirit of Jasper”
  • Third Place: Ordie Day, Jasper, with “Big Boy” Train. 

Teen Division:

  • First Place: Katie Hasselbring, Jasper, with “Marengo Mirror”
  • Second Place: Danika Kiefer, Velpen, with “Feeding Time”

Children Division:

  • First Place: Brandon Kieser, Jasper, with “Flowers at Dusk”

Photos may be picked up at the museum beginning with July 1.

The Photo Contest will be an annual event, so start taking your photos for next year’s contest.
