Phillip R. Jeffries, 72

Phillip R. Jeffries, 72, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 3:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Phil was born in Hardin County, Kentucky on April 2, 1943 to Emmett and Vira (Best) Jeffries. He married Sylvia Bickwermert on January 11, 1964 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.
Phil retired from Kimball International – Jasper Corporation after 39 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.
He was a 1961 graduate of Ireland High School, a member of Jasper Outdoor Recreation where he served on the board for many years, the Huntingburg YMI, and a member of the Ireland Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Jeffries of Ireland; three daughters, Shannon Eckert and her partner Jeff Wildman of Jasper, Kim Mehringer and her husband Jef of Jasper, and Tracy Jeffries of Huntingburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lula Powell of Florida and Alice Morris of Jasper; two brothers, John Jeffries and wife Judy of Ireland and Larry Jeffries and wife Judy of Huntingburg.
Preceding him in death was one sister, Betty Jeffries; three brothers, Charles, Howard, and Faurest Jeffries; one stepbrother, Bob Murry; and three stepsisters, Hazel Gregory, Helen Murry and Jeannie Wagner.
Funeral services for Phillip Jeffries will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
