Philip Dean Letterman, 59, Jasper

Philip Dean Letterman, 59, of Jasper, passed away surrounded by family at 4:35 p.m. CST on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. 

Dean was born in Huntingburg on January 23, 1964, to Gayle and Cendia (Borden) Letterman. 

He had previously run the printing press for The Herald and Impressions Printing. 

He was a musician, especially a guitarist, and was an avid woodworker. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his dogs.  

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. 

Surviving are his fiancé, Kathy Klee of Jasper; two children, Tyler (girlfriend, Sarah Joas) Letterman of Birdseye and Whitney (significant other, Brent Williams) Letterman of Jasper; seven grandchildren; his mother, Cendia Letterman of Jasper; and two sisters, Darla (Bill) Niehaus of Ferdinand and Lisa (Russell Mehringer) Letterman of Huntingburg. 

Preceding him in death is his father, Gayle Letterman and his stepmother, Sharon Letterman. 

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.   

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel.  Pastor LG Lance will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
