Peggy A. Schwartz, 77, Bretzville

Peggy A. Schwartz, 77, of Bretzville, passed away on September 1, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Peggy was born on December 3, 1948, to Raymond and Rita A. (Meyer) Oser.

She married David L. Schwartz on March 20, 1967.

Peggy worked as a key-punch operator before settling into her family life as a homemaker. She also helped with the family engraving business, Hoosier Laser. She loved tracing genealogy roots, tending to her flowers, gardening and canning produce. She often spent free time at auctions, watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and Poker with family. She was an active member of the Ferdinand American Legion Auxiliary.

Peggy is survived by her husband, David; two daughters, Michele (Gary) Weyer of Ferdinand and Leeann (Scott) Berger of Bretzville; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Evan) Nordhoff, Austin (Jessica) Egloff, Jalynn Egloff, Clarissa (Sam) Weidenbenner, Dylan Weyer, Sydney Berger, Wyatt Berger; great-grandchildren, Emberly and Easton Nordhoff, David and Lyla Egloff; one brother, John Oser of Wasilla, Ak., and two sisters, Mary (Roger) Thacker of St. Anthony, Barbara (Rick) Buttry of Wadesville.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Andrea L. Egloff; son-in-law, Jerry Egloff, Jr.; great-grandson, Noah Egloff; and one brother, Richard L. Oser.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 1 p.m. EDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand; burial will follow at Bretzville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. EDT to the time of the funeral service at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
