Pedestrian struck near Dubois; police seeking vehicle
A man was struck by a vehicle on the 9900 block of Hickory Grove Road north of the Dubois Crossroads (just south of the Dubois and Martin County line) late Saturday evening.
The vehicle fled the scene after striking the man and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle or driver involved.
Authorities responded to the report of a pedestrian possibly struck by a vehicle at about 11:45 p.m. When deputies arrived, they learned the man had been struck by a vehicle and it had fled northbound on Hickory Grove Road.
The man was taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance and then transferred to another hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is asking that anyone with information about the incident please come forward and contact the sheriff’s department at 812-482-3522. Callers can remain anonymous and are directed to ask for Deputy Mike Hanselman.
Martin County Sheriff’s Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and Dubois First Responders assisted at the scene.
