Pauline R. Brosmer, 88, of Schnellville, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019, in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Pauline was born in Jasper on February 13, 1931, to George and Frances (Spellmeyer) Mehringer. She married Lawrence Brosmer on October 6, 1951, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

Pauline worked at the Jasper Glove Factory, and then Jasper Desk and Indiana Desk. She was also a homemaker and farmer with her husband.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish–Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Schnellville Homemaker’s Club, St. Ann’s Society, and the Schnellville Community Club.

She enjoyed praying, reading, gardening, canning, working on the farm with the animals, especially her peacocks, sewing, playing cards, going on picnics and outings with family, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Brosmer of Schnellville; five daughters, Mary (Joseph) Fromme of Jasper, Karen (Glenn) Fuhrman of Schnellville, Rose (Donald) Loepker of Schnellville, Susan (George) Merkley of St. Anthony, and Janice (Douglas) Thayer of Schnellville; four sons, Paul (Julia) Brosmer of Schnellville, Eugene Brosmer and fiancé, Linda Fendel, of Schnellville, Larry Brosmer of Schnellville, and John (Diane) Brosmer of Schnellville; 17 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Sabelhaus of Indianapolis.

Preceding her in death are three grandchildren, Joseph Fromme Jr.,  Robert Kern, and Nathan Brosmer; one sister, Mary Katherine Huber; and one brother, Basil Mehringer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline R. Brosmer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
