Pauline Avonel White, 78

Pauline Avonel White, 78, Jasper, passed away on December 15, 2025, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Pauline Avonel White was born on June 21, 1947.

Pauline was the eldest of five siblings and grew to be a strong, resilient woman. She was blessed in June of 1971 with her daughter and worked tirelessly to provide for her family.

Throughout her life, Pauline held many different jobs, which ultimately led her to managerial roles in various businesses, showcasing her natural leadership skills. She had a deep love for music-especially country-but was often pleasantly surprised when one of her many grandchildren listened to songs she herself had enjoyed as a teenager.

Pauline was an avid reader and cherished reading to her grandchildren before sending them off to bed, sometimes for the second time. When she wasn’t working hard, she was actively involved in her family’s lives, teaching her grandchildren important life lessons, including how to cook. She was also a fierce competitor and should never have been underestimated while playing GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64. Later in life, she learned to play Left 4 Dead with her grandchildren and enjoyed fighting zombies.

Pauline was known for her deep kindness and gentle wisdom. She freely gave her knowledge and time and often opened her home to those in need. Her compassion lives on in the lives she touched and the lessons she passed down.

Pauline was a warm, loving, and kind woman whose presence shaped generations. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Dora Amanda Morris; her grandchildren, Ariel Ferrara, Jacqueline Coupland, Sonny White, Sarah Thomas Tuell, and Crystal Summers; her great-grandchildren, Shae Paul Underwood, Penelope Ferrara, and Virgil Ferrara; her siblings, Sue Shaffer, James White, Joey White, and Virginia Presswood; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
