Paul M. Wigand, 85, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday (January 18, 2015) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Paul was born on January 20, 1929 in Ireland, Indiana to Peter and Veronica (Mercker) Wigand. He married Rosa Lee Henke on April 15, 1953 at Holy Family Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2001.

Paul retired from Kimball International Jasper Laminates after 36 years of service. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, wine making, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by one daughter, Carla Fleck and her husband Rick of St. Anthony; three sons, Terry Wigand and his wife Yvonne, James Wigand and his wife Sandy, and Mark Wigand, all of Jasper; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Simon Wigand and his wife Sara of Jasper; friend, Eileen Atkins of Jasper.

Preceding him in death besides his wife was three brothers, Raymond, Albert, and Bernie Wigand; six sisters; Anna Voegerl, Cecelia Rohleder, Leona Kluemper, Frances Gehlhausen, Henrietta Voegerl, and Marcella Voegerl.

Funeral services for Paul M. Wigand will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper, IN. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
