Patterson earns certification to assist veterans’ loan needs

Darren Patterson, of the Mortgage Company of Southern Indiana, is now a Certified Veterans Lending Specialist (CVLS). This certification offers more options and a higher level of advice to veteran clients seeking assistance for loans.

“Serving our veterans has always been one of my top priorities. Now with a new certification, I am able to go above and beyond, finding them the best ways to use a VA loan,” said Patterson.

Patterson attended the National Association of Mortgage Brokers Conference this year in Mobile, Alabama to obtain this exciting, new certification. A CVLS certification offers many benefits. Veterans earn VA Loans, which can be a great benefit in and of itself, but often they need assistance and guidance as to how and when to use the loan. Knowing all the nuances of a VA loan benefits both the certified and the client to get the maximum benefits possible. 

“Often there are subtle details and limitations built into a VA Loan, if you don’t know where to look, you can feel stuck. We are now confident in different ways to work around these limitations. There are even benefits for reservists or surviving spouses,” Patterson explained.
