Patricia Ruth Seckinger, 89, Saint Meinrad

Patricia Ruth Seckinger, 89, of Saint Meinrad, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at her home.

Patricia was born February 1, 1928, in Huntingburg to Clem & Viola (Woerter) Messmer. She was united in marriage to John V. Seckinger on January 21, 1947, in Huntingburg. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2004.

Patricia was a member of Saint Meinrad Parish and its St. Elizabeth Society & Ladies Sodality, St. Meinrad Legion # 366 Auxillary, Twin Lakes Home Economics Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and St. Meinrad Senior Citizens. Patricia was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Tretter (Alvin) of Newburgh; two sons, Mike (Sandy) Seckinger of St. Meinrad and Bob (Kathy) Seckinger of Fulda; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard (Sharon) Messmer of Jasper.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Ray Seckinger; daughter, Ruth Ann Seckinger; granddaughter, Theresa Seckinger; great-grandson, Luke Tretter; two brothers, Paul and Steve Messmer; and a sister, Suzann Schiewer.

Funeral services for Patricia Ruth Seckinger will be held at 10:00 a.m. CDT Friday, February 2, 2018, in Saint Meinrad Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. CDT Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and after 9 a.m. CDT Friday at the church.
