Patoka Lake Marina and Winery owners receive Will Koch Tourism award

Monday, Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch awarded Patoka Lake Marina and Winery co-owners Stephen Bartels and Heather Setser with the Will Koch Indiana Tourism Leadership Award.

The award Crouch and the Indiana Destination Development Corporation during an awards presentation at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis.

The business opened in 1998 and has become a staple for year-round tourism to the area. Located in Dubois County, Patoka Lake Marina and Winery draws thousands of visitors each year to enjoy the beauty of southern Indiana. Among its offerings are silo hotel suites, a winery and recently completed brewery and broke ground on a 28-room hotel while preparing to break ground on Old Homestead Distillery.

“Tourism is an integral part of Indiana’s economy,” said Crouch, Indiana’s Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development in a press release. “Indiana is fortunate to have so many tourism venues like Patoka Lake Marina and Winery providing great opportunities to play and stay. Places and spaces are key parts of  ‘quality of place,’ but it is our people that truly make Indiana a more attractive destination.”
