Patoka 2000 to hold annual tree dedication and blessing ceremony on Arbor Day
Patoka 2000 will host its annual Tree Dedication and Blessing Ceremony on Friday, April 24, 2026, in observance of Arbor Day. The event will feature the planting of a Liberty Tree — an American Elm selected to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States — along with the installation of a Patoka 2000 commemorative plaque and other plaques
The ceremony will open with a welcome and an explanation of Patoka 2000’s mission and purpose, followed by introductions of attendees and a Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Ryan Craig and Father John Brosmer are scheduled to speak, and representatives from the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will also participate.
The program will conclude with the ceremonial planting of the tree and a word of thanks to all attendees.
