Pair arrested on battery and residential entry charges in Huntingburg

Huntingburg officers arrested two people on a myriad of charges after being called to break-in of a Huntingburg residence Tuesday morning.
Officers were sent to 421 1/2 E. 4th St. at about 12:46 a.m. and met with the residents. According to the victims —Brittany Bicknell, 22, and Michael Fryou, 22, they had been at Jessica J. Fulkerson’s residence at 607 N. Washington St. earlier in the evening. The two told police that when they prepared to leave the residence, Fulkerson, 22, became angry and jumped into their vehicle. Fryou told police he attempted to remove her and she punched him in the face.

The officers observed that Fryou had blood running down his face from a wound.
Once she was out of the vehicle, Fryou and Bicknell left for their home on 4th St.
Then, at about 12:10 a.m., they heard someone banging on their front door. When they opened the door, Fulkerson pushed her way into the home, according to the victims. She went into the bedroom in the residence and sat down. According to Fryou, he approached her and told her to leave and she punched him again.
According to the victims, at that time, Andrew S. Burch, 22, 609 N. Washington Street, came into the residence and began attacking Fryou. Bicknell was able to call 911 while Fulkerson and Burch left the residence.
After obtaining statements and photographs from the victims, an officer went to Fulkerson’s residence on Washington St. As the officer was approaching the house, he observed Burch jump from the porch and run away. The officer chased him to his residence at 609 N. Washington St.
When the officer arrived at the door, the homeowner, Mary Burch, told the officer Andrew Burch was not in the home but the officer heard noises from the rear of the home. He found Burch exiting the home from the back door but when Burch saw the officer, he ran back into the home.
According to police, after backup officers responded to the home to assist, they received consent to search the home and officers located Burch in the cellar of the home. They also located syringes, glass smoking devices and a bag containing a small amount of marijuana in Burch’s bedroom.
Burch was charged with Level 6 felony counts of battery, possession of a syringe and residential entry as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct. Fulkerson was charged with a Level 6 felony count of residential entry and a misdemeanor count of battery.
Both Burch and Fulkerson were placed under arrest and transported to the Dubois County Security Center for processing and lodging.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the incident.
