Pair arrested for theft connected to Christmas Eve crime
Jasper — A pair arrested Thursday for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart were connected to another shoplifting incident that occurred Christmas Eve.
According to authorities, store personnel stopped Todd A. Howard, 43, and Nicole L. King, 29, both of Rumbach Drive, at about 11:57 a.m. when they attempted to leave the store without paying for food, alcohol, and toiletry items. The total value of the items was $266.
During the investigation, police reviewed surveillance video taken on Christmas Eve showing the pair leaving the store with a vacuum cleaner and numerous food items with a total value of $370.12 without paying for them.
The stolen items were recovered from the Rumbach Drive residence.
Howard and King face charges of class A misdemeanor theft. They were both booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
