Oscar C. Bair, 94

Oscar C. Bair, age 94, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in Brookside Village Health Care in Jasper.
He was born at Dubois, Indiana, October 5, 1919 to Martin and Anna (Bauernfiend) Bair. He married Etta Lou Nicholson October 23, 1948 at the Crystal Community Church. She preceded him in death September 11, 2011.
Oscar Bair was a US Navy Veteran and had worked for Dubois Highway Department for over 43 years.
He is a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He was also an avid IU basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Dubois N.E. girls basketball fan.
He is survived by his son, Gary Bair and wife Diane, of Dubois; grandchildren, Gretchen Brinkman and husband Ryan, and Jessica Freyberger and husband Adam, both of Dubois; great grandchildren, Pierce, Preston and Parker Brinkman, and Abbie and Ryder Freyberger; sister, Mary Ann Fuhrman, of Jasper.
Preceding him in death besides his wife is one daughter, Belinda Bair; two sisters, Pauline Freyberger and Louise Meyer; and two brothers, Ralph Bair and Wilfred Bair.
Funeral services for Oscar Bair will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. The Rev. Venard Walters will officiate.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to a favorite charity.
