Olivia E. Meyer, 90, of Jasper, passed away at 12:58 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Olivia was born on August 19, 1925, in Ferdinand, Indiana to Pius and Frances (Oeding) Oser. She married Louis Meyer on June 1, 1946, at St. Ferdinand Church in Ferdinand, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 4th, 1991.

Olivia had previously worked for the Jasper Glove Company. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and their St. Ann’s Society. She was a member of the VFW Post #673 Auxiliary and the Purple Heart Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Recker and husband Mark of Dubois; two daughters-in-law, Cindy Meyer of Jasper and Brenda Meyer of Jasper; two sons, Kenny “Tex” Meyer and wife Connie of Jasper and Steven Meyer and wife Barbara of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Davi Mattingly, Channa Crase, Kena Robbling, Mandy Harris, Adam Meyer, Jeremy Meyer, Jamie Foster, Andy Meyer, Luke Himsel, Molly Himsel, Eric Himsel, and Dakota Recker; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Giesler of Jasper; one brother, James Oser and wife Rita of Ferdinand.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were two sons, Charles L. “Chuck” Meyer, and William “Bill” Meyer; five brothers, Paul, Lawrence, Hilary, Ray and Hugo Oser; sister, Verena Manning and Lucille Oser who died in infancy; and one great grandchild David Mattingly.

Funeral services for Olivia E. Meyer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper, Indiana.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Monday, December 28, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
